Discover the science behind our technology
Roca is building a new model for water treatment to replace dilute-and-dispose with recover-and-reuse, using electrochemistry to turn pollutants into products.
How It Works: Inspired by
Battery Electrodes
Our technology was inspired by the way battery electrodes store and release specific ions for energy storage. Similarly, our electrochemical system uses specialized electrode materials to selectively capture target ions from complex water matrices without the use of membranes or harsh chemicals.
By borrowing from battery science, we’ve reimagined water treatment as a platform for targeted reclamation, not just contaminant removal.
Our Approach
Membrane & Chemical Free
Less maintenance, fewer fouling issues
Energy Efficient
Uses up to 50% less energy than conventional industrial processes
Value-Generating
Positioned for resilience in a changing resource landscape
Modular by Design
Scales with need, from lab to field
Engineered for Scale and Stability
Our team is advancing from lab prototypes toward field pilots. We’re developing skid-mounted recovery units that operate directly at partner sites—municipal, agricultural, or industrial.
If you’re a wastewater utility, engineer, or agriculture operator looking to recover value and reduce environmental risk, we’d love to talk.
